Better Mental Health With Nature In Mind
“...along with the other animals, the stones, the trees, and the clouds, we ourselves are characters within a huge story that is visibly unfolding all around us, participants within the vast imagination, or Dreaming, of the world.”
― David Abram
Wild Wellbeing UK has emerged from our passion to support people with mental health and personal development needs along with our love for the natural world. By bringing people into contact with nature they can begin to heal from personal issues, trauma, stress, anxiety and mental illness.
We believe that nature is home and that we are as much a part of nature as any wild animal or plant. By reconnecting with our wild true nature we can come back home to ourselves and our deepest longing. Here we can learn to find the peace, fulfilment and harmony which is often lacking in the everyday human world.
Studies now show that people with strong connections with nature report feeling happier and more content. Being outside in nature brings its own healing element and this combines with exploring the symbols and mirroring that nature can offer to support recovery from mental illness, trauma, stress, anxiety as well as to support personal development and meaningful connection to the natural world. Most importantly, when humans have a better connection to nature, they take care of the natural world in proactive ways which can restore and heal this beautiful Earth.
